Covid-19 Travel Advice

A message to our guests

Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary vision for a long-term has been to conserve the sanctuary’s wildlife and its biodiversity in a manner that maximizes the benefits for wildlife preservation and promotion of responsible tourism.

Today, as we face the uncertain ramifications of what the coronavirus pandemic will mean to our global family and business, we want to assure you that we have the best interests of our staff, guests, Government partners and communities at heart, and that our vision remains as important to us as ever before.

The result of the pandemic has meant that many of our guests have had to change their travel dates. We want to thank you for your understanding and for choosing to postpone, supporting and making a significant and lasting difference to African wildlife conservation and community upliftment and more so in the delicate Tsavo ecosystem.

Together with our travel partners, we are working closely with our guests to accommodate alternative dates, to field your questions and to ensure that all your travel needs are met.

Now that travel restrictions are being lifted, there is still concern around global travel. With this in mind, we have placed the health and safety of our wider community first and foremost, through a variety of proactive measures. As a company we have bolstered already existing hygiene and cleanliness measures in our lodge, resort & sanctuary including vehicles to be in line with the World Health Organization, (WHO), Government of Kenya (GK) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and we are continuing to refine our health and safety procedures in accordance with best practice. We have increased training for all staff through a dedicated task team, and are driving all COVID-19 related matters with the input and support from the authorities.

Our commitment to protecting Africa’s wildlife and people – both internal and external communities – remains a central focus for us, and we are working closely with both our safari lodge and safari resort on a number of conservation and community projects: read more about them here.

We hope your desire to connect with the natural world, wide open spaces and with new people and cultures will be stronger than before. We look forward to welcoming you back to the “ Heart of Tsavo”  to Explore :  Discover :  Experience : & Conserve.
